Privacy
Privacy at nicovanzyl.com
This portfolio is designed to be browsed without creating an account, submitting a form or accepting marketing cookies. This page explains the limited data involved when it is used.
Information this site handles
The site does not include account registration, a contact form, advertising pixels or a first-party analytics product. Its hosting provider, Netlify, may process standard request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, request path, user agent, timestamp and diagnostic or security data. Nico does not ask visitors to provide personal information through the site itself.
The homepage requests current Johannesburg weather from Open-Meteo and may request a display font from Fontshare. Those providers receive the network information ordinarily sent with an HTTP request. Their handling of that information is governed by their own services and policies.
Browser storage and interactive features
The optional browser game stores save data locally in the visitor’s browser using IndexedDB and a small localStorage pointer so a saved game can be resumed. This data remains on the device and is not submitted to Nico by the portfolio. Clearing site data in the browser removes it. Development-only interface tools may use sessionStorage when the site is run locally; those controls are not part of the public production experience.
Normal browser caching may retain site files such as images, scripts, styles and fonts to improve repeat visits. The portfolio does not use those cached files to build an advertising profile.
External links and questions
Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, X, Altostrat, Owners Circle and other sites leave this portfolio. Those services have their own privacy practices. Do not send credentials, confidential customer information or sensitive personal data through a public profile or public repository.
This notice was last updated on 21 August 2026 and may change if the site adds a form, analytics, authentication or another data-handling feature. Privacy questions can be raised through the public professional contact routes, after which an appropriate private channel can be agreed.
